Kalmar HC thanks NHL veteran Collin Delia as contract ends

Kalmar HC has parted ways with 31-year-old American goaltender Collin Delia after a brief and challenging stint in Swedish hockey. The club praised his performance, humility, and leadership in a statement on their website as his contract expires. Delia saw limited action following moves from SHL side Brynäs to Hockeyallsvenskan.

Collin Delia arrived in Sweden with NHL credentials, expected to serve as a reliable backup to Erik Källgren at Brynäs in the SHL. However, his season started roughly, limited to just six league matches before he departed the club. Seeking more opportunities, the 31-year-old moved to Kalmar HC in Hockeyallsvenskan ahead of the February transfer deadline. There, he appeared in only two regular-season games before the playoffs began, after which he did not feature further. Kalmar HC issued a heartfelt message on their site: 'Your time with the club was short, but we will remember your play between the posts, your humility, and your leadership. Now the journey continues for Collin, and we at Kalmar HC wish him and his family the best of luck on future adventures.' Delia's tenure fell short of the adventure he hoped for, marking the end of a tough campaign in Swedish leagues.
