Lauren Hurst, a 6-foot-3 guard from Cleveland, Tennessee, announced her commitment to Virginia Tech out of the transfer portal. She joins Alyssa Latham, a 6-foot-2 junior forward who transferred in as a graduate student. Both players were key rotation members for the Lady Vols by season's end, contributing to a team that saw all eight eligible players enter the portal, leaving no returners on the roster for next season. Tennessee also released five-star signee Oliviyah Edwards from her commitment, with four-star Gabby Minus as the lone incoming freshman. Lauren Latham averaged 19.1 minutes per game this season, posting 4.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and one steal while shooting 53.9% from the field. She had transferred to Tennessee from Syracuse two years prior. Hurst emerged in the second half of the season as the team's top three-point shooter at 41.4% on 1.2 attempts per game. She averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 10 minutes across the year, with 48.8% field goal shooting, highlighted by a career-high 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting—including four threes—in a game against Ole Miss. Hurst was part of Tennessee's No. 2-ranked 2025 recruiting class by ESPN, rated as a four-star prospect at No. 45 nationally. Meanwhile, the Lady Vols have added transfers Avery Mills from Liberty and Naomi White from Northern Arizona to rebuild.
