Netflix has announced that Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey will appear as a guest star in season 3 of its series Wednesday. Andrew McCarthy and James Lance are also set to guest star, joining a roster of previously announced additions. The new season is currently filming near Dublin.
The streamer revealed the casting news for Wednesday, the Addams Family spin-off starring Jenna Ortega. Headey, best known for portraying Cersei Lannister across eight seasons of HBO's Game of Thrones, which concluded in 2019, will make a guest appearance alongside McCarthy, recognized from The Resident, and Lance, who played journalist Trent Crimm in Ted Lasso. No details about their characters have been disclosed yet. Netflix stated the news without specifying plot involvement for the newcomers. The guest stars join other season 3 additions including Winona Ryder from Stranger Things, Eva Green from Penny Dreadful, Chris Sarandon from The Princess Bride, Noah Taylor from Peaky Blinders, Oscar Morgan from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and Kennedy Moyer from Task. Production on the eight-episode season is taking place near Dublin, Ireland. Headey recently co-starred with Gillian Anderson in Netflix's cancelled Western The Abandons. Her additional television credits include Beacon 23, White House Plumbers, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
