Linköping misses registration deadline for forward Proos

Linköping HC has encountered a registration error with forward William Proos, recalled from Almtuna amid injuries to key players Remi Elie and Theodor Lennström. The club failed to submit a transfer request before the deadline, leaving Proos unable to play in the SHL for now. This issue compounds challenges for the team, which is short on forwards.

Linköping HC called forward William Proos back from Almtuna IS after learning that star players Remi Elie and back Theodor Lennström are expected to miss the remainder of the season due to upper body injuries, according to Expressen. However, the club overlooked submitting a transfer request to Almtuna before the Sunday deadline.

As a result, Proos remains registered with Almtuna and cannot suit up for Linköping in the SHL. Svenska Ishockeyförbundets tävlingschef Magnus Mårtensson confirmed that no transfer has been processed. Linköping may now need to apply for dispensation from the Tävlingsnämnden to resolve the issue.

The situation is particularly challenging for LHC, which recently sold forward Oliver Johansson to AIK and has Remi Elie sidelined. This leaves the team with only 13 regular forwards.

On a brighter note, captain Oscar Fantenberg is back training with the team after arm surgery and could return soon, with a decision expected later this week. Centern Johan Johnsson is nearing a return after a nerve injury in his hand from a skate cut on the ice, and forward Fredrik Karlström is also expected back shortly from an upper body injury. Last week, Linköping acquired landslagsmeriterade centern Ludvig Larsson from Finnish club Sport i Vasa.
