A 66-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday morning on the road connecting Neiva with El Juncal.
The accident took place in the vereda La Sardinata, in the municipality of Palermo. The victim, identified as Gerardo Figueroa, was riding a blue Honda motorcycle. It collided with a Toyota Hilux public service pickup truck. The truck driver, a 58-year-old man from Íquira, was unharmed. Traffic authorities are investigating the circumstances. According to initial hypotheses, the motorcyclist may have ignored a traffic sign, though this requires verification through expert analysis.
