Neil Young makes surprise return with solo set at benefit

Neil Young performed for the first time in 2026 during a benefit concert marking David Suzuki's 90th birthday.

Neil Young appeared on May 22 at Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre for the event honoring the Canadian environmentalist. He played solo acoustic versions of 'Heart Of Gold' and 'After The Gold Rush', the latter on piano with harmonica added. The show also included performances from Jane Fonda, Al Gore and Sarah McLachlan, among others, and raised funds for the David Suzuki Foundation.
