Bella injured her ankle during an episode of WWE SmackDown prior to WrestleMania 42. The injury led her to miss the event where her twin sister Brie won the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships alongside Paige. She also skipped the European tour centered around Clash in Italy due to anxiety about travel. On The Nikki & Brie Show, Bella said she has focused on workouts and recovery with positive results. She noted plans for X-rays a week earlier than scheduled and intends to test the ring soon. 'Everything is just looking really strong and healthy,' she said. In a separate interview with Casino Guru, Bella stated she wants an epic heel story before her contract expires in January 2028. She hopes to receive medical clearance in June and possibly win a championship if it fits the narrative.
