Noah Kahan's 'The Great Divide' has achieved No. 1 status on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart dated March 7, accomplishing this in its fourth week on the survey. This rapid climb represents the quickest rise to the top since October 2024, when Linkin Park's 'The Emptiness Machine' reached No. 1 in its third week.
This is Kahan's second No. 1 on the Alternative Airplay chart, following his collaboration with Post Malone, 'Dial Drunk,' which held the top spot for two weeks in 2023. Kahan's previous single, 'Stick Season,' peaked at No. 15 during its second run on the chart in 2024; it had originally reached No. 21 in 2023 before gaining renewed popularity.
Concurrently, 'The Great Divide' leads the Adult Alternative Airplay chart for a second week. On the audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, it remains at No. 2, with 4.9 million audience impressions in the week ending February 26, according to Luminate, marking a 9% increase.
The track is expanding to pop radio, holding at No. 25 on Adult Pop Airplay and advancing from No. 37 to No. 32 on Pop Airplay, while also appearing on the Adult Contemporary chart's bubbling under section.
'The Great Divide' debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart dated February 14. On the most recent tally dated February 28, reflecting data from February 13-19, it ranked No. 3, supported by 9.9 million official U.S. streams and 1,000 downloads.
Kahan's album, also titled 'The Great Divide,' is scheduled for release on April 24. It follows his 2022 breakthrough album, Stick Season.
