Nordiska motståndsrörelsen har fått polititillatelse til å sette opp et bord og en vimpel på Söder torg under Almedalsveckan. Plassen ligger utenfor selve Almedalsområdet i Visby.

Leder for Almedalsveckan, Meit Fohlin, bekreftet at gruppen søkte om og fikk polititillatelsen. Tillatelsen dekker en plass utenfor det inngjerdede Almedalsområdet der regionen ikke tildeler plasser. Fohlin understreket at avgjørelsen ikke er politisk, men hviler på politiets vurdering. Politiet har tidligere år nektet dem plass inne på selve området. Region Gotland har stilt grunnen til disposisjon, men har ikke noe ansvar for sikkerheten. Det er politiet som håndterer sikkerhetstiltakene rundt demonstrasjonen.
