Palmeiras associate denies abuse of girl in testimony

Laercio Milazzotto gave testimony to the Civil Police on Tuesday denying accusations of sexual abuse against a 4-year-old girl at the Palmeiras headquarters in São Paulo.

The testimony took place at the 9th Women's Defense Police Station. Milazzotto, 74, denied the accusations during the interrogation.

The complaint was filed on June 10 by the child's mother. She reported that the girl disappeared briefly around 4:30 p.m. at the social headquarters in Perdizes and later said “grandpa put his hand there.”

Camera footage confirmed that the girl entered the men's bathroom for about 15 seconds. Palmeiras suspended the associate preventively and sent the recordings to the police.
