Pemex congratulates Fátima Bosch on Miss Universe win and family ties

Mexican model Fátima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe 2025, an achievement celebrated by Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) due to her father's long tenure at the company. Bernardo Bosch Hernández has worked 27 years at Pemex, holding various key positions. The congratulatory message highlights the new beauty queen's effort and professionalism.

Fátima Bosch Fernández, from Tabasco, became the fourth Mexican to win Miss Universe on Thursday night, crowned in the international beauty pageant. The achievement drew congratulations from various figures, including President Claudia Sheinbaum, but Pemex's message drew special attention on social media.

The state-owned company posted: “The oil family congratulates Fátima Bosch Fernández on her achievement as Miss Universe 2025”, adding that it reflects “effort, professionalism, and passion”. This congratulations stems from Fátima being the daughter of Bernardo Bosch Hernández, an engineer graduated from Universidad Iberoamericana with a decades-long career at Pemex.

Bernardo joined the company in March 1998 as Superintendent of Internal Audits in the Cantarell Project, a position he held until 2002. He then advanced to Head of the Control Unit of the Subdirectorate of Engineering and Strategic Works Development for two years. Among his roles are Manager of Management Control in the Corporate Directorate of Engineering and Project Development, Advisor in the Corporate Directorate of Operations, and Manager of Management Control in Pemex Exploration and Production.

As Manager of Social Responsibility and Development for two years, he designed a new social responsibility policy, implemented 140 actions, and launched the Community and Environmental Support Program. In 2017, he took on the role of advisor to the General Director of Pemex Exploration and Production, his current position where he analyzes projects and agreements.

Fátima, in an interview for Hola! magazine, has said: “Admiro muchísimo a mi papá, lo respeto muchísimo. Él es un señorón intachable”.

The Bosch family also has political ties, such as her aunt Mónica Fernández Balboa, director of the Institute to Return to the People What Was Stolen.
