PinkPantheress has released a remix of her hit song 'Illegal' by Four Tet. The track, originally from her 2025 mixtape Fancy That, is now available on streaming platforms. This follows her recent BRIT Awards recognition and upcoming tour expansions.
PinkPantheress, the British producer and singer, has made available a remix of her breakout single 'Illegal' by electronic artist Four Tet, whose real name is Kieran Hebden. The original track appeared on her 2025 mixtape Fancy That and became a major hit, ranking No. 6 on Pitchfork's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2025. Four Tet had been performing the remix in his live sets last year, and it is now officially on streaming services.
Hebden's version builds on the song's popularity, which PinkPantheress attributes to its timeless sample and a TikTok trend. In an NME interview, she said: “I don’t know if it’s anything too deep, other than having a [TikTok] trend for it helped and also the sample is quite timeless. I think the power of the beat itself is what people really like about it.” NME described 'Illegal' as an “adrenaline-fuelled thrillride” that blends “winking storytelling smarts, artful sampling, cheeky culture-defining quips and dance floor-filling beats,” naming it their song of the year.
This release comes amid PinkPantheress's rising profile. She was named the BRIT Awards' 2026 Producer of the Year, becoming the youngest recipient ever, as decided by a panel of music production experts. Previous winners include A.G. Cook, Calvin Harris, Fred Again.., and Paul Epworth. She is also nominated for Artist of the Year and Best Dance Act at the ceremony, held on February 28, 2026, at Manchester's Co-op Live—the first time outside London.
Additionally, PinkPantheress announced extensions to her An Evening With PinkPantheress tour. After a second North American leg starting April 8 in Mexico City, she will perform European dates in May and June, including two nights at Manchester's O2 Victoria Warehouse on May 25 and 26, London's Alexandra Palace on May 29, Paris's Zenith on May 31, Amsterdam's AFAS Live on June 1, and Berlin's Tempodrom on June 2. Support comes from iKeda, with tickets on sale March 6. She previously played a two-night residency at London's O2 Academy Brixton in September 2025.
The remix album Fancy Some More? features versions by Anitta and Nia Archives. Four Tet's recent work includes his 2024 album Three, collaborations with Ellie Goulding and Skrillex, and a rework of Mazzy Star’s “Into Dust.”
