A police spokesperson stated: “We received several calls after a brown horse was found deceased on Winterbourne Road, Stoke Gifford... We understand the horse may have been pulling a cart with two males on board prior to the incident.” Officers are reviewing CCTV footage, liaising with the RSPCA, and interviewing witnesses to establish the circumstances. They are particularly seeking dashcam or mobile phone recordings from the time of the incident or sightings of the horse beforehand. Neighbourhood inspector Stephen Baines described the event as “a deeply distressing incident” and extended sympathies to witnesses and those affected.
