Interior Minister Diego Santilli announced that the government will push a tax reform in Congress in coming months. The plan aims to deepen tax cuts and involve national, provincial, and municipal levels. He made the statements at the AmCham Summit 2026.
Interior Minister Diego Santilli stated at the AmCham Summit 2026 that the national government will submit a tax reform bill to Congress to boost economic competitiveness.
Santilli described the reform as part of priority structural changes, stressing its broad scope: “La reforma fiscal es clave en la Argentina, porque el esfuerzo debe verse en las tres dimensiones: nación, provincia y municipios”. He linked it to labor modernization to promote formal employment.
The official noted positive revenue signals in some jurisdictions and highlighted strategic sectors including oil and gas, mining, agroindustry, and the knowledge economy. He mentioned work with governors from Neuquén, Río Negro, Mendoza, San Juan, Salta, and Jujuy, particularly in energy and mining.
At the same event, Senator Patricia Bullrich urged investment: “Inviertan, inviertan que la Argentina hoy tiene estabilidad”. She discussed legislative consensus for deals like MERCOSUR-EU and labor modernization.
