Sebastian Erixon leaves Färjestad after eleven years

Sebastian Erixon is moving from Karlstad to Sundsvall after more than a decade with Färjestad. The 36-year-old plans to take on a role within Timrå’s organization.

Sebastian Erixon has decided to leave Färjestad after eleven years. He arrived at the club from Växjö in the summer of 2015 as an established SHL defenceman. His playing career ended abruptly in December 2020 following a severe concussion sustained in a match against Rögle. He later took on support roles at the club, including work with equipment staff and the strength coach, and assisted players returning from injury. Erixon and his wife Gabriella, both originally from the Sundsvall area, have now found a house and are relocating with their three children. He told Värmlands Folkblad that the timing felt right, especially with their oldest daughter Ilse turning twelve this year. He intends to continue in hockey and will discuss a position with Timrå during the summer. The exact nature of the role remains undecided.
