Bogotá’s mayor’s office announced the second edition of the International Biennial of Art and City, set for September 2027 with São Paulo as guest city.
Following the success of the 2025 edition that drawn more than three million visitors, the Secretariat of Culture, Recreation and Sport formed a six-member curatorial committee.
The panel includes Magalí Arriola and José Esparza Chong Cuy from Mexico, along with Juan Ricardo Rincón Gaviria, María Paula Bastidas, Juliana Steiner Fraser and Elkin Rubiano from Colombia. José Esparza said the initiatives will promote local and international artistic production.
Calls opened on July 15 offer one billion pesos in incentives across categories such as Bogotá Inédita and neighborhood interventions. Secretary Santiago Trujillo emphasized using art in public space to shift narratives of violence.
The 2025 event featured 250 artists from 12 countries and resulted in restored works and 137 urban interventions. Organizers aim to match or exceed those outcomes in 2027.
