Six people were killed in a shooting at a youth welfare facility in Stade on Monday. A 45-year-old man is suspected of firing shots in the context of a custody dispute. Two young children were left orphans by the attack.
The attack occurred during a help planning meeting at the facility. All of those killed worked professionally in youth welfare. The suspect was arrested.
The 32-year-old mother of two children aged three and four was killed in the attack. Their father had already died of an illness at the end of April.
More than 630,000 euros were raised for the children on a GoFundMe donation platform within two days. The donations are intended to finance care, supervision, education and therapeutic support.
