A soldier from the Batallón Energético y Vial N.° 12 died after his motorcycle collided with a camioneta on the Garzón-El Agrado road. The accident happened in the early morning of April 14, leaving another person injured. The uniformed officer was receiving care at Hospital San Antonio de El Agrado when he succumbed to his severe injuries.
Luis Manuel Jaramillo, assigned to the Batallón Energético y Vial N.° 12, was riding a motorcycle on security duties when he collided with a camioneta bearing plates IRM 238 on a curve of the road linking Garzón and El Agrado. The strong impact triggered an emergency on the highway.
Rescue services arrived at the scene and transferred the injured to Hospital San Antonio de El Agrado. Despite medical efforts, Jaramillo died hours later from the severity of his injuries.
The other person involved remains under medical observation as evaluations continue. Authorities are investigating the crash, which took place in the early morning of April 14.
