Users can access this by pressing the power button during a download and selecting the low-power option, or it activates automatically after an idle timeout.
Once in the mode, pressing the power button or moving the Steam Deck brings up a status screen displaying download progress. To prevent complete battery depletion, the device automatically enters sleep mode if the battery level drops below 20%.
