Stellan Skarsgård nominated for Golden Globe supporting role

Actor Stellan Skarsgård has been nominated for a Golden Globe for best supporting male actor in the Norwegian film 'Sentimental value'. Composer Ludwig Göransson receives two nominations for his work on 'Sinners'.

Stellan Skarsgård is nominated for best supporting male actor in Joachim Trier's acclaimed Norwegian film 'Sentimental value', where he plays film director Gustav Borg, who has invested everything in art at the expense of his family. 'It is of course fun to be nominated once again. And honorable,' Skarsgård tells TT. This is the second time Skarsgård could win a Golden Globe; he won for his supporting role in the TV series 'Chernobyl' in 2020.

The film 'Sentimental value' scores big with a total of eight nominations, including best director for Trier, best drama, best international film, best screenplay, and best actress for Renate Reinsve. Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas are both nominated for best supporting actress.

Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson is nominated in two categories for 'Sinners': best original score and the song 'I lied to you', written with Raphael Saadiq.

The Golden Globe ceremony, which kicks off the awards season in the US and often signals Oscar contenders, takes place on January 11 with comedian Nikki Glaser as host. There are a total of 28 categories for both film and TV.
