Denmark has granted provisional approval for Tesla's Full Self-Driving Supervised system, becoming the fourth European country to do so. The Danish Road Traffic Authority, Færdselsstyrelsen, announced the decision on June 9 after reviewing the Dutch type approval.
The approval follows similar moves in the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Estonia over the past two months. Færdselsstyrelsen accepted the Dutch RDW's provisional type approval issued on April 10 after conducting its own independent review of the technical documentation. The authority stated that the system will contribute positively to road safety by assisting the driver. It emphasized that the system does not make the car self-driving and that the driver remains fully responsible. Tesla said rollout to Danish vehicle owners is expected to begin soon. The company noted that the approval was based on national recognition of the Dutch certification. Owners with compatible hardware are anticipated to gain access first during the rollout phase.
