Tim Juel leaves Timrå for Helsingfors IFK

Goalkeeper Tim Juel is joining Finnish club Helsingfors IFK after three seasons with Timrå IK. The 31-year-old, named SHL's best goalkeeper in 2025, will reunite with coach Olli Jokinen.

Tim Juel has signed with Helsingfors IFK for the upcoming season. He previously played a limited role as backup to Jacob Johansson during the 2025/26 campaign. Juel described the move as an opportunity for personal and professional growth. He will form an all-Swedish goalkeeper duo alongside Hugo Alnefelt. Goalkeeper coach Riku Helenius said the pair would compete for playing time and develop together. Juel's path to the SHL included stints in Hockeyettan and HockeyAllsvenskan before his time at Timrå.
