A truck drove into a ditch on road 661 between Lejsta and Österedinge east of Uppsala, downing a power line pole and causing a total traffic stoppage. One person was taken to hospital for checks. Emergency services were alerted just after 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The truck had veered into the ditch, and Trafikverket reported that a pole carrying power lines was knocked down, blocking the road completely.
Marie Nordahl, a control room operator at Trafikverket, described the situation: “The lines are across the road, so both lanes are closed. It's unclear how long, but it will take some time to get someone here to inspect the lines.” The driver was extracted from the vehicle by rescuers with no initial injuries reported.
By 5:40 p.m., one lane had reopened. Emergency services left the site but noted one person was taken to hospital for checks. At 7:00 p.m., Trafikverket lifted the warning for the area.
