Västerås IK has added 20-year-old center Melker Bertals to its roster on a one-year contract ahead of the new season. The forward comes from Borlänge in Hockeyettan, where he tallied 42 points over 37 regular-season games in his first senior campaign. Bertals, a product of Mora IK's youth system, expressed excitement about joining the club's fresh start.

The 20-year-old forward progressed through Mora IK's ranks, from youth teams to senior play, before his strong performance in Hockeyettan with Borlänge.
