Carmen Gammie topped the prix St Georges silver class aboard Lets Make An Opera M at the NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships at Addington. Greg Dickens and Dannie Morgan also claimed victories in the medium bronze and elementary freestyle gold, respectively. Sadie Smith secured her second win of the event in the prestige novice gold.
The NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships got underway at Addington from 15 to 19 April, with several riders securing top spots on the opening day. Carmen Gammie, riding her own 10-year-old gelding Lets Make An Opera M, scored 67.01% to win the Petplan Winter Area Festival Championship prix St Georges silver class. Lynne Mason on 19-year-old Donner Trois placed second with 65.05%, while Tabitha Leicester and 17-year-old Eires Rock took third on 65% score. Gammie, who travelled from Aberdeen and trains with Hannah Moody, noted the horse's recovery from a serious virus at age seven. “We nearly lost him to a virus when he was seven,” she said. “It’s even more special now he is where he is.”
