18-year-old arrested after shooting kills teen and woman at Michigan soccer game

An 18-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly opening fire at a pickup soccer game in Grand Rapids, Michigan, killing a 14-year-old boy and a 39-year-old mother of eight.

The shooting occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday at the playground of Southwest Elementary School. Police said the suspect approached a group of children playing soccer and asked to join. When he was turned away, a verbal dispute began and he pulled out a firearm.
