Adidas has launched the Stan Smith SQ, a new take on its classic tennis shoe with square toe boxes. The model went on sale for $130 and sold out rapidly on the company's website.
The Stan Smith SQ keeps the original's glossy leather uppers along with the signature three stripes and tongue logo. It offers a dressier appearance compared to prior versions. Adidas previously released formal-style Stan Smith models such as the Lux and Freizeit. A square-toe Superstar variant also sold out after launching overseas. The release marks the first official square-toe Stan Smith from the brand itself. Earlier designs by others included a CLOT espadrille version.
