Airbnb hosts in Antioquia generated more than 552 billion pesos in revenue during 2025, a 15% increase from the previous year. Medellín accounted for more than 435 billion pesos of that total.
The Airbnb platform reported that hosts in the Antioquia department achieved these results in 2025. The revenue boosted spending at local restaurants, transport services and neighborhood shops.
Nationwide, traveler and host activity generated an economic impact of more than 10.6 trillion pesos in 2024. Of that amount, more than 9 trillion pesos corresponded to direct tourist spending on local goods and services.
The benefits also reached municipalities outside usual urban circuits, including El Peñol, Guatapé, Jardín, Envigado, Sabaneta, Rionegro, Itagüí, Sopetrán and Santa Fe de Antioquia.
