Alfredo Olivas' final CDMX concerts before indefinite retirement

Singer Alfredo Olivas will perform his last two shows in Mexico City this weekend at the Monumental Plaza de Toros before taking an indefinite break from the stage. He announced the decision after a successful tour, citing the need to rethink aspects of his life. Tickets for December 19 are still available.

Alfredo Olivas, one of the leading figures in regional Mexican music, has confirmed that his performances on December 19 and 20, 2025, at the Monumental Plaza de Toros México will conclude his 'Vivo' tour in the capital. The Saturday 20 show sold out due to high demand, while Friday's December 19 event has availability in various sections.

Tickets are available via FunTicket, priced from 690 pesos for general admission to 4,590 pesos for the VIP package. Other zones include 3,290 pesos for barrera, 2,590 for first tendido, 1,690 for second tendido or palco, and 1,190 for lumbrera. Service fees are extra, and purchases can also be made at the Forum Buenavista ticket offices.

The indefinite retirement announcement came from a video Olivas posted and later deleted on social media, where he stated: “I find myself ‘nefastiado’ by this situation, and when I'm on stage I can't defend myself, I can't give news. That's why I'm telling you (…) I'll take a break. I don't know until when, I don't know how far, but we're going to rethink many things in the realm of life because we need it, my people.” Speculation points to influences like the content of his lyrics, bans on corridos in some states, and potential threats.

Following these concerts, Olivas will rest for the remainder of 2025, with scheduled performances in Arandas, Jalisco, on January 9, 2026, and León, Guanajuato, on January 10. His hiatus will begin right after, ending a chapter in his career that established him as a genre icon.
