All five 'Hunger Games' films returning to theaters in September

The five original 'Hunger Games' movies are scheduled to screen in theaters from Sept. 3 to Sept. 7. Each screening will include an exclusive preview of the upcoming prequel 'The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,' set to premiere Nov. 20.

Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment are bringing the films back as preparation for the new release. The schedule starts with 'The Hunger Games' on Sept. 3, followed by 'Catching Fire' on Sept. 4, 'Mockingjay — Part 1' on Sept. 5, 'Mockingjay — Part 2' on Sept. 6 and 'The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes' on Sept. 7.

Kevin Grayson, president of Worldwide Distribution for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said the partnership aims to let audiences experience the original films together ahead of the new one. Tickets are already on sale.

The new film 'Sunrise on the Reaping' is set 24 years before the first movie and stars Joseph Zada as young Haymitch Abernathy. It is directed by Francis Lawrence.
