Anna Wintour and Milan mayor reveal Vogue World 2026 location

Anna Wintour and Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala announced that Vogue World 2026 will take place at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The event, set for September 22 during Milan Fashion Week, will celebrate international craft and raise funds for local cultural initiatives. Wintour described the historic arcade as a magical space honoring Milan's fashion heritage.

At a press conference in Milan on February 24, 2026, Anna Wintour, Condé Nast’s chief content officer and global editorial director of Vogue, alongside Mayor Giuseppe Sala, unveiled the venue for the fifth edition of Vogue World. The event will occur on September 22, coinciding with the first day of Milan Fashion Week, at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a 50-meter-high arcade completed in 1877 and located between La Scala and the Duomo.

Wintour praised Milan’s enduring appeal, stating: “Coming to this city a few times a year for the past several decades has been one of the great pleasures of my life. This place — in its history and its refinement, but also in its creativity and warmth — is what the best of fashion is about.” She added: “We cannot think of a better place for Vogue World to honor everything that is extraordinary about Milan than in this magical space between La Scala and the Duomo.” The theme, “Where The Future Is Made By The Hand,” will highlight the power of international craft amid growing cultural exchange.

Previous Vogue World events in New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles have raised over $7 million for charities focused on creative education and community support. This year’s proceeds will benefit Milan-based initiatives for local craft, design, and cultural preservation, with a committee of institutions advising on selections. Wintour noted: “Vogue is committed to supporting the Municipality of Milan through a dedicated contribution to support cultural initiatives serving the public good.”

The announcement at Sala Alessi in Palazzo Marino drew fashion leaders including Francesca Ragazzi of Vogue Italia, Prada’s Lorenzo Bertelli, Valentino’s Alessandro Michele, and La Scala dancer Roberto Bolle. Attendees also included business figures like Diego Della Valle and designers such as Marco de Vincenzo. Guests featured model Bianca Balti, artist Ghali, and Olympic athlete Arianna Fontana, whom Wintour hailed as Italy’s most decorated with 14 medals, likening Vogue World to “the Olympics of fashion — a global convening for the best in our field.”

Mayor Sala called the event a “double honor,” emphasizing fashion companies’ economic contributions and the fundraising opportunities for local causes. Michele discussed the theme’s exploration of handmade Italian traditions and AI, comparing the latter to the Gutenberg Press. Bertelli stressed that AI enhances rather than replaces artisan expertise, viewing sustainability as an innovation driver. The creative team includes director Juan Costa Paz, producer Marco Balich, curator Judith Clark, and fashion lead Amanda Harlech, with Ragazzi closing the event by promising a live-streamed global moment on September 22.
