Argentine students to compete in CanSat 2026 defending title

A team of Argentine students will take part in the CanSat 2026 aerospace contest in the United States, where they will defend the title won last year with a satellite they built themselves.

The youths will represent Argentina in the challenge backed by NASA.

The contest focuses on the design and launch of CanSat-type satellites. The group aims to repeat its 2025 success.

The competition will be held on US soil during 2026.

The South African National Space Agency (Sansa) is providing key support to Nasa’s Artemis Two mission by hosting a communication antenna. The mission, which launched last week, involves four astronauts on a ten-day fly-by around the Moon. Sansa’s role includes tracking the Orion capsule for trajectory and health data.
