PT Bio Farma is providing essential aid to victims of flash floods in Bireuen Regency, Aceh. The assistance includes rice, blankets, and baby milk, distributed in coordination with BPBA. This effort aims to ease the burden on communities in evacuation sites.
PT Bio Farma (Persero), as the parent holding of state-owned pharmaceutical companies, continues to support recovery for disaster-affected communities in Indonesia. In response to flash floods hitting several areas in Aceh Province, the company is delivering logistical aid alongside PT Kimia Farma Tbk. The assistance targets basic needs such as rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, blankets, baby milk, baby porridge, and other snacks. Priority is given to residents still in evacuation centers and areas with limited logistics access.
Distribution is taking place in Peusangan, Bireuen Regency, in partnership with the Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA). Hidayat Setiadji, Head of the TJSL, HSE, Assets, and General Division at Bio Farma, noted challenges including disrupted road access and limited fuel availability. "Distribution of aid is carried out in coordination with BPBA given the ongoing field obstacles. Road access to several affected locations is cut off, and limited fuel supplies are impacting the delivery process. Nevertheless, we remain committed to ensuring support reaches safely, quickly, and on target," Setiadji stated.
This collaboration involves local government and community partners, aiming to bolster basic needs fulfillment and alleviate the burden on survivors until conditions improve. Bio Farma Group's actions highlight the role of pharmaceutical state enterprises in public health resilience through prompt humanitarian responses. The company pledges to strengthen partnerships for equitable and sustainable aid delivery to victims.
