Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo has been named Player of the Matchweek for Matchweek 9 in the Premier League. The summer signing earned the honor after starring in his team's 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. It marks the second consecutive week a Manchester United player has topped the fan poll.

Bryan Mbeumo's standout performance in Manchester United's 4-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion has earned him the Premier League's Player of the Matchweek award for Matchweek 9. The forward scored his third and fourth goals of the season, securing his position as United's top scorer in the league this campaign. His brace helped Manchester United achieve a third consecutive league victory, their first such streak since February 2024.

Mbeumo received 45 percent of the votes in the official fan poll, which featured eight nominees from the matchweek. His closest rival was Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven, who garnered 27 percent. The other nominees included Eberechi Eze with 10 percent, Brenden Aaronson with six percent, Amadou Onana and Granit Xhaka both at four percent, and Zian Flemming and Michael Kayode each with two percent.

This award follows Harry Maguire's win for Matchweek 8, highlighting a strong run for Manchester United players in the recognition. Previous winners this season include Moises Caicedo (Chelsea) for Matchweek 7, Erling Haaland (Man City) for Matchweek 6, and others from Liverpool and Spurs in earlier weeks.
