Developer Castle Pixel and publisher Playtonic Friends have launched the Family Life update for their cozy farming sim, Cattle Country, accompanied by a new trailer. This free content addition introduces marriage, family expansion, and seasonal events, building on player feedback since the game's May 2025 debut. The update is available now across multiple platforms.
Update Overview
Cattle Country, a relaxing country-side life simulation game, first launched on May 27, 2025. Since then, the development team has incorporated player feedback, including a community vote on September 1, 2025, to determine the next major update. The winning Family Life expansion focuses on building personal relationships and expanding homesteads with family members.
Key Features
The Family Life update allows players to find a spouse, marry, and have or adopt children. Family members develop their own routines and behaviors at home, where players can join in preferred activities or request help with farm tasks like picking crops or gathering up to 20 items daily. Additional enhancements include the ability to sit anywhere using chairs or couches, new starting farm layouts such as Islands, Hills, River, or Mountain, a smarter crafting and cooking system that pulls from chests, and upgrades to coops, barns, and sheds with expanded capacities and new appearances.
The trailer also highlights seasonal content from Halloween and fall updates, featuring festive decorations, themed cosmetics, a Spooky Maze, and pumpkin carving activities.
