A child under ten was hit by a car outside Eskilstuna on Tuesday evening. A woman in her twenties has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence in traffic and hit-and-run.
The child was taken by ambulance to hospital. The extent of injuries remains unclear, police said.

Police spokesperson Angelica Israelsson Silfver said the investigation has begun with witness interviews. The car has been seized.
– We have started to talk to some witnesses, we will talk to the woman who is arrested and later we will also talk to the child, says Angelica Israelsson Silfver.
