Dodgers emerge as top fit for free agent outfielder Kyle Tucker

The Los Angeles Dodgers are viewed as the perfect landing spot for free agent Kyle Tucker, the premier outfielder on the market projected to land a massive contract. At 28 years old, Tucker could address the Dodgers' outfield needs following their back-to-back World Series titles.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off back-to-back World Series championships, are strongly linked to free agent Kyle Tucker, who is expected to command the largest contract of the offseason. Tucker, formerly of the Houston Astros, has established himself as one of baseball's elite outfielders over the past five years. In the 2025 season, he batted .266 with a .377 on-base percentage, .464 slugging percentage, 22 home runs, and 25 stolen bases, showcasing his all-around impact.

Despite their recent success, the Dodgers' offense struggled at times, posting a .658 OPS in the World Series compared to .745 for their opponents, the Toronto Blue Jays. Their outfield produced 73 home runs but managed only a .299 on-base percentage, highlighting areas for improvement. Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer emphasized the fit, writing, "The Dodgers may be back-to-back World Series champs, but at no point during their second run this year did they make it look easy. Their offense, in particular, was pretty mediocre for much of the regular season and even in the playoffs."

Tucker, at 28, would slot into a corner outfield position, complementing Teoscar Hernandez, an above-average hitter with defensive limitations. Alongside younger outfielder Andy Pages, the trio could elevate the Dodgers' outfield production. While the Dodgers typically favor shorter deals to manage luxury tax concerns, Tucker's rare combination of skills makes him a compelling target amid competition from teams like the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, and New York Mets.

An ESPN executive survey noted the Yankees as favorites to sign Tucker, with projections of a contract exceeding $400 million, though six of 16 respondents highlighted the Dodgers' appeal.
