El Hijo del Vikingo Faces Six to Eight Months Recovery After Knee Surgery

AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Vikingo underwent successful left knee surgery this week following an injury sustained while preparing for an NXT match. Dave Meltzer reported the wrestler will be sidelined for six to eight months.

El Hijo del Vikingo suffered the injury just over a week ago while training for a bout against EK Prosper on NXT. He shared photos on social media showing himself in a knee brace and on crutches before the operation.

On Tuesday, Vikingo posted from his hospital bed confirming the surgery's success. The procedure addressed his left knee.

Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the AAA star had the operation one week after the injury. He previously underwent right knee surgery in 2024 after ligament damage and a torn meniscus, missing six months.

Vikingo has dealt with multiple injuries in recent years, including setbacks in TNA and PROGRESS in late 2024, though 2025 was relatively injury-free.
