Elden Ring Reforged, a substantial free mod for FromSoftware's acclaimed RPG, has received its 2.0 update, marking a significant milestone by adding complete online multiplayer functionality. Originally released a couple of years ago, the mod already offered extensive changes, including new mechanics like deflecting and ducking, Runeforging for passive effects, the Codex of the All-Knowing for enemy details, adjustable difficulty options, and additions such as new weapons, bosses, and spells.
The multiplayer system emulates FromSoftware's style with co-op sessions, invasions, summon signs, and player messages. Invasions are restricted to dungeon areas rather than the overworld, allowing players to leverage environments and enemies strategically, as noted by the development team. Participants earn reward coins during multiplayer, which can be exchanged for various rewards. The Roundtable Hold expands with The Gilded Court, a new duelling hub.
