Fátima Bosch, from Teapa, Tabasco, studied Fashion and Clothing Design at Universidad Latinoamericana, where Fabofe—short for Fátima Bosch Fernández—emerged. The project began with a runway show featuring garments made from reused materials, driven by her passion for design and social activism.
The brand prioritizes sustainable fashion, using recycled materials like second-hand clothes along with natural fibers and dyes. This results in vibrant pieces with bold colors, embroideries, and textures, embodying a philosophy of second chances for discarded items. 'If everything you see is made from what was once discarded… We all can become more if given the opportunity,' Bosch wrote on Instagram. Items feature embroidered FB initials and include urban styles, lingerie, and maternity wear, plus accessories like beaded necklaces and earrings.
Fabofe partners with indigenous artisans from San Andrés Larráinzar, Chiapas. Profits support social initiatives, including a recent collaboration with Gritos de Amor via the Corazón Migrante program, aiding migrant children. 'I've created these hoodies with phrases to encourage solidarity with them and show support from here. As a designer, I've always felt committed to joining social causes that inspire and unite us, because fashion can also be a voice for empathy and change,' Bosch stated in a post.
Though her Instagram hasn't updated since March, the brand remains active with hoodie sales via WhatsApp. Prices are not listed on social media.
