Angel Marcloid’s frenetic electronic project Fire-Toolz announced her signing to Warp Records as first reported by Pitchfork. The label will release Lavender Networks on May 8, accompanied by a video from cestainsi.funfactory for the lead track “Balam =^..^= Says IPv09082024 Strawberry Head.” The album artwork comes from Meredith Guerrero. Contributors include Zola Jesus and Brothertiger on the opening track “Quintessential Fixed Width Unfoldment,” Lipsticism on “[Codename_Sparkly Lagoon Lan Line],” Jennifer Holm on “And Where Is the Heart? I’ve Searched My Entire Home,” and Sling Beam on “Pleasant Valley Magic Cube of Holiness.” Marcloid’s sister Liverfire also appears. In a press release, Marcloid described Jennifer Holm’s involvement: “Now imagine a Nashville mom who sings on country albums and in her church band, being asked by an interfaith transfeminine anarchist from Chicago to sing on her screamy, noisy electronic album.” Previously, Fire-Toolz released Eternal Home via Hausu Mountain in 2021, followed by EPs I Will Not Use the Body’s Eyes Today and I Am Upset Because I See Something That Is Not There. Marcloid self-released Breeze in 2024 and contributed production to No Joy’s Bugland. The full tracklist is: 01 Quintessential Fixed Width Unfoldment [ft. Zola Jesus, Brothertiger, Nailah Hunter]; 02 Balam =^..^= Says IPv09082024 Strawberry Head; 03 [Codename_Sparkly Lagoon Lan Line] [ft.
