Foreign investors set new record for Korean stock sales in June

Foreign investors offloaded a record net 49.34 trillion won worth of South Korean stocks in June, data from the Financial Supervisory Service showed.

Foreign investors offloaded a record net 49.34 trillion won worth of South Korean stocks in June, extending their selling streak to six straight months.

After the June sales, offshore investors held 2,908.6 trillion won in local stocks, equal to 36.4 percent of total market capitalization.

In the bond market, foreign investors bought a net 13.9 trillion won of Korean debt last month. Their holdings stood at 334.8 trillion won as of end-June, or 11.8 percent of listed bonds.
