On Saturday, May 23, Luciano Huck stated at an event that Bolsa Família does not break the cycle of poverty and that beneficiaries create shortcuts to remain in the program.
On Sunday, May 24, Ana Paula Renault, winner of BBB 26, posted a video on Instagram rebutting the speech without directly naming the presenter. She described the remarks as “preconceito fantasiado de opinião econômica” and wrote that fighting hunger produces opportunity and dignity.
Renault’s post received over 1.5 million likes. First Lady Janja reposted the content and the Ministry of Social Development praised the publication.
Milena Moreira, a former BBB participant, also defended the program on social media, noting that her family left the benefit after improving its financial situation.
