Fox cancels Going Dutch after two seasons

Fox has canceled the military comedy Going Dutch starring Denis Leary after two seasons. The series, which aired its Season 2 finale on April 23, will not return. Variety first reported the news, which TVLine has confirmed.

Fox announced the cancellation of Going Dutch, a military comedy led by Denis Leary, just a week before its upfront presentation where the network will reveal its next primetime schedule. The show debuted as a midseason replacement in January 2025 with a 10-episode first season and earned a Season 2 renewal alongside Animal Control last May. Season 2 premiered this January and concluded on April 23, but signs of trouble emerged in February when Fox renewed Animal Control for Season 5 without mentioning Going Dutch. Currently, the Kristin Kreuk crime drama Murder in a Small Town remains the only Fox series on the bubble, while Grimsburg awaits a premiere date for its latest season despite no official renewal yet. Leary portrayed Colonel Patrick Quinn, a tough-talking U.S. Army officer reassigned to a remote base in the Netherlands after offending superiors. There, he works to instill discipline among a group of military misfits. Danny Pudi played executive officer Abraham Shah, with Taylor Misiak as Quinn's daughter Maggie, the base's commanding officer. The cast also featured Laci Mosley as Sergeant Dana Conway and Hal Cumpston as Corporal Elias Papadakis, alongside recurring roles by Joe Morton, Catherine Tate, and Kristen Johnston in Season 2.
