Hartford women's indoor track competes at Tufts Cupid Challenge

The University of Hartford women's indoor track and field team participated in the Tufts Cupid Challenge in Medford, Massachusetts, with three athletes competing in the pentathlon events. Junior Jordan Murphy from East Hampton, Connecticut, competed in the invite division after qualifying from prior performances. She finished fifth overall, establishing a new program record in the pentathlon 60m hurdles with a seventh-place time of 9.44 seconds. Murphy also improved her standing to second all-time in the high jump at 1.73 meters. In the 800m, she placed fourth with 2:37.07, while earning tenth in the long jump at 4.96 meters and fifth in the shot put at 10.56 meters.

Freshman Emily Breau from Meriden, Connecticut, represented Hartford in the open pentathlon, finishing fourth overall and achieving the ninth-best pentathlon score in program history. Her individual results included fifth in the 60m hurdles at 10.10 seconds, third in the 800m at 2:35, second in the high jump at 1.49 meters, and third in the long jump at 4.89 meters.

Senior Mariah Nichols from Barton, New York, competed in the open pentathlon and placed 16th overall. She recorded tenth place in the shot put with a throw of 8.52 meters.

These performances highlight the Hawks' efforts in the competitive meet, with Murphy's record-setting run standing out among the individual achievements.
