India and Oman to sign trade agreement today

India and Oman will formalize a comprehensive free trade agreement (FTA) on December 18, 2025. This pact represents Muscat's first FTA in about 17 years, following its earlier agreement with the United States.

The deal aims to enhance strategic relations between the two nations. It encompasses a wide scope, including trade in goods and services, investment opportunities, green energy cooperation, and commitments to net-zero emissions.

This development builds on ongoing bilateral efforts, such as the India-Oman Business Forum, to deepen economic partnerships. By addressing key areas like sustainable energy, the FTA positions both countries to collaborate on global challenges while boosting trade flows.
