Indiana parents arrested after infant dies during delay

A couple in Indiana has been arrested in connection with the death of their six-month-old daughter last October. Authorities say the parents stopped for snacks and cigarettes instead of seeking immediate medical help for the child.

Grant Ethan Stevens and Hannah Marie Evans, both 30, face felony charges including aggravated battery and neglect of a dependent. The charges stem from an incident on October 28, 2025, at their apartment in Valparaiso, where the infant suffered fatal injuries.
