Building on the rains and frosts from cold front 38, a dry line in northeast Mexico will drive wind gusts up to 70 km/h, heavy precipitation, lightning, and possible hail on March 4. The National Water Commission warns of tornado conditions in northern Coahuila and Nuevo León. Cold front 39 enters via the northern border early morning, further lowering temperatures in mountainous areas.
Heavy rains are forecast for Coahuila, Nuevo León, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo. Showers will hit Durango, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Morelos, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Oaxaca, Veracruz, and Tabasco. Isolated rains expected in Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, and Querétaro. Risks include rising rivers, landslides, flooding, and pooling.
Heat waves persist amid the shifts, with 40-45°C in northeastern Sinaloa and Isthmus of Oaxaca; 35-40°C in Sonora, southwestern Chihuahua, western Durango, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, southwestern Puebla, Chiapas, and Yucatán; and 30-35°C in Baja California Sur, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Nayarit, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, southwestern State of Mexico, Campeche, and Quintana Roo.
Low temperatures continue in mountains: -10 to -5°C with frosts in Chihuahua and Durango; -5 to 0°C in Baja California, Sonora, Zacatecas, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, and Puebla; 0-5°C in Baja California Sur, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, and Oaxaca.
