Film Details

Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the two-hour-and-42-minute epic follows an ex-revolutionary (DiCaprio) pulled back into conflict when he and his daughter (Chase Infiniti) are pursued by a corrupt military officer (Sean Penn as Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw). The film has received widespread critical acclaim and is considered an Oscar frontrunner.

Lawrence urged audiences to catch it in theaters, emphasizing its relentless pace: “You have to see it in theaters. I think it’s an impossible pace to uphold. There’s not an extra minute in it, at no point does it drag.” She praised Anderson's character development, saying he “has so many characters inside of him, and they’re all so visceral, so real that you’re, it’s so alive and you’re in it.” Lawrence specifically lauded Penn's performance: “I mean, Leo, obviously, but I mean, my God.”
