Josh Groban to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Singer Josh Groban will receive the 2,843rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 6 in the recording category. The ceremony is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. PT at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Amoeba Records, and will stream live online. It precedes the release of his new album Cinematic by two days.

Josh Groban's star unveiling comes ahead of several milestones. The event falls two days before his Reprise album Cinematic drops on May 8, featuring 10 classic film songs including tracks from The Godfather, Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Stand by Me. Produced by Greg Wells, the collection highlights Groban's vocal style in the traditional pop genre, where he has earned five Grammy nominations, three for best traditional pop vocal album. He previously topped the Billboard 200 with Closer in 2004, Noel in 2007 and All That Echoes in 2017. Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer, stated, “Josh has this incredible way of connecting with people through his music. It’s been amazing to watch his journey over the years.” David Foster, Josh Gad and Ben Schwartz will speak at the ceremony. Foster mentored Groban early and produced several albums; Gad shares a history from Carnegie Mellon; Schwartz co-starred with him in the 2013 film Coffee Town. iHeart Media's Ellen K will emcee. That same week, Groban performs at the Grammy Hall of Fame gala on May 8 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, honoring Warner Music with the Visionary of Music Award. Foster and Teddy Swims will also perform there. Groban, 45, recently wrapped his GEMS World Tour and has tours planned with Jennifer Hudson and a Las Vegas residency. He supports arts education via the Find Your Light Foundation.
